Justin Placide

Justin Placide is the Head of Net Zero Ministerial Briefing and Fiscal Events at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero. His responsibilities cover strategic governance, fiscal events, briefing, ministerial engagement, business and corporate planning. With a strong background in government and the finance industry, Justin combines strategic insight with a commitment to public service. A graduate of London South Bank University in business finance, he brings expertise in politics, policy development, stakeholder engagement, critical thinking, and communication. Known for his hands-on leadership style, he has successfully managed large teams and delivered complex projects under pressure, meeting deadlines with efficiency. Justin is an advocate for ED&I actively working to create fairer and inclusive workplaces. He co-chairs, the Civil Service Race Forum (CSRF) and the Faith and Minority Ethnic (FAME) Network.
CSRF – a collaborative group of ethnic minority Networks including Non-departmental Public Bodies, Agencies and Arms-Lengths Bodies, working to advance ED&I.

FAME – represents staff from different ethnic backgrounds and faiths, welcoming individuals who do not identify themselves as being from an ethnic background or religious group.
His career reflects a balance of analytical rigour, collaborative spirit, and dedication to driving meaningful change in both environmental policy and organisational culture.
