Her Excellency Macenje “Che Che” Mazoka is Zambia’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, bringing more than thirty years of experience in media, governance, and diplomacy to the post.
Born into a family with deep ties to public service—her father, Anderson Mazoka, was a prominent Zambian politician, Mazoka embarked on a career in broadcasting, working in the United States (Washington, D.C. and New York) before returning to Africa. For over 16 years, she led communications and marketing at South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), overseeing strategy, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.
Since assuming her diplomatic post, Mazoka has prioritized economic diplomacy, strengthening Zambia–UK relations, promoting foreign investment into Zambia, and amplifying Zambia’s role in global conversations around climate, development, and governance. She also chairs and has chaired NGOs focused on good governance, election monitoring, and development forums in the SADC region.
A global communicator at heart, Mazoka uses her rich media background to project Zambia’s narrative abroad, with a strong belief that the art of persuasion and storytelling remain central to diplomacy.
