Five African Caribbean and British venture capitalists (VC) / Angel Investors (AI) ‘The Titans’ will listen to ten would-be African Caribbean entrepreneurs ‘The Contestants’ pitch their business ideas for 2 minutes (the elevator pitch).
The sectors of focus of the entrepreneurs should be within the scope of:
- Agriculture & Agri-Business;
- Climate Change & Renewable Energy;
- ICT, Digital Economy & Cybersecurity; and
- Tourism.
At the end of each pitch the entrepreneur will be asked two (2) questions by the VCs / AIs about their product/service and if any are impressed, at the end of the line of questioning an offer is made…
Contestants with heritage links to Saint Lucia, Jamaica, Nigeria, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, and South Africa are expected to be dressed in business attire and would have rehearsed their pitch to perfection prior to entering the Pitching Lair.

African Caribbean Sustainability & Investment Summit (ACSIS) respects each individual’s right to personal privacy. We will collect and use information through our web sites only in the ways disclosed in this statement. This statement applies solely to information collected at ACSIS web site.

Levi Roots
Musician & EntrepreneurLevi Roots, a Rastafarian musician, found business success with his Reggae Reggae Sauce, a blend of barbecue and jerk sauce. Initially making it at home and selling locally, his big break came in 2007 on Dragons’ Den, where he secured £50,000 for 40% of his company. Inspired by his grandmother, Levi began cooking at nine in Jamaica. His sauce’s popularity led to a broad product range and cookbooks. A former musician, he toured globally and sang for Nelson Mandela. Levi is also a motivational speaker and philanthropist, involved in youth initiatives and cultural projects like the Windrush Museum and St Pauls Carnival. |

Samuel Ifegbesan
Software EngineerSamuel (Tani) Ifegbesan is a Computer Science student at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and the Vice President of the Strategic Women and Youths, Lagos chapter. He is also a dedicated software engineer who lives by the philosophy of making life easier and better for those around him and future generations. This guiding principle drives him to positively impact all aspects of his life, sharing knowledge and assisting others whenever possible. Samuel has trained over 70 youths in tech, and his commitment to community service is evident in his leadership role at the Strategic Women and Youth Institute. He is now channeling his passion and philosophy into RUNIT Technologies, his tech company aimed at making a global impact. |
