NOTES
Fireside Chat
An informal, intimate conversation between a moderator and a guest (or guests), usually featuring industry experts or high-profile individuals. Unlike traditional interviews, fireside chats aim for a relaxed, conversational tone, often with storytelling elements and audience questions.
Lightning Talk
A very short, time-limited presentation (usually 5 – 10 minutes) designed to deliver quick insights – or share ideas concisely. Several lightning talks are often scheduled back-to-back.
Keynote Speech
A high profile often inspirational presentation given by a speaker at the beginning or end of the conference. Keynotes set the tone or provide a concluding summary of the event, usually by addressing broader themes or industry trends.
Plenary Session
A session where all conference attendees gather in one place to hear from a key speaker or panel. Plenary sessions are usually held at the beginning or end of an event to deliver important messages to all participants.
Panel Discussion
A structured conversation involving a group of experts (usually 3 – 5) discussing a specific topic. A moderator guides the discussion and may take questions from the audience. Panel discussions offer diverse perspectives on an issue and allow for debate and dialogue among the panelists.
Roundtable
A smaller, more informal discussion group centered around a specific issue or theme. Participants typically sit around a table (literally or metaphorically) and engage in open dialogue, with a focus on shared learning and exchange of ideas.
Q&A Session
A session where the audience poses questions to the speaker or panlists after a presentation.Q&A sessions can be standalone or part of a larger session, providing an opportunity for direct interaction between the audience and speakers.
